New for 2023! Aviation Mechanic Airman Certification Standards (ACS) by ASA
This ACS-1 becomes effective in September 2022 along with the new Part 147 rule, and will be the reference for the FAA Aviation Mechanic Knowledge and Oral & Practical Tests beginning July 2023. The FAA AMT Practical Test Standards (ASA-8081-AMT-4) remain available for sale and in effect until June 30, 2023. AMT schools modifying or adding curriculum should use the ASA-ACS-1, effective September 2022. Applicants should check with their school and instructor to determine which standards they should use—the new ACS-1 or PTS (ASA-8081-AMT-4)—based on their intended O&P test date.
This Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Mechanic – General, Airframe, Powerplant Airman Certification Standards (ACS) document provides the knowledge, risk management, and skill standards required to earn an FAA airman certificate. This ACS also includes the ACS Companion Guide (FAA-G-ACS-1) as well as FAA references for each subject.
The ACS is the guide for students, instructors, and evaluators to understand what applicants must know, do, and consider to pass their FAA Knowledge Exams and Oral & Practical (O&P) and earn their Aviation Mechanic certificate. 1122
